The Arcadia Valley R-II school board recently adopted changes to the rules which govern the use of all technology resources in the district.  These rules apply to everyone using computers or any other technology resource here on campus.  These new rules took effect on February 14th, and all users are now responsible for following them.

The new set of rules is called the Technology Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), and it replaces what was formerly known as the User Agreement.  If you have not yet read the new AUP you should do so immediately.  Remember, all of the rules that appear in it now apply to you.

Here are two examples of changes:
1. Non-educational Internet use is prohibited unless you have explicit permission from your teacher or principal.
2. Students are no longer permitted to access e-mail during the school day.  Students may only access e-mail before or after school, or during school with special permission as part of a class project.  Teachers may continue to use web-based e-mail in accord with the rest of the AUP.
Teachers, please familiarize yourself with these rules as soon as possible.

Students, if you have questions about the AUP, please ask your teacher or principal.
